November 8, 2025

Dear colleague,

Earlier this week, PNHP brought more than 200 physicians, students, activists, and allies to Capitol Hill for our first ever Advocacy Day!

Fresh off our Nov. 1-2 Annual Meeting and SNaHP Summit in Washington, D.C., our members spent an invigorating, energized, and empowering day at the U.S. Capitol on Monday, Nov. 3. We kicked things off with a march and rally before breaking off for dozens of meetings with legislative staff throughout the House and Senate office buildings.

Our members spent weeks preparing for their legislative meetings by connecting with PNHP’s national office staff, participating in training sessions, and working in small groups. Every team had two main asks for their legislators: 1) oppose the WISeR pilot program that introduces prior authorization into traditional Medicare, and 2) push back against the many ways that corporate “Medicare Advantage” insurers fail seniors of color.

PNHP’s march and rally also attracted the attention of local news stations, which ran stories highlighting our opposition to Medicaid cuts, premium hikes, and the growing financialization of U.S. health care. Check out our coverage on NBC and CBS—and be sure to share widely!

The theme of this year’s Annual Meeting was “Building Community, Building Power” and our first ever Advocacy Day represents a huge step in that direction. We have many more steps to take to reverse runaway profiteering and, ultimately, to win improved Medicare for All—but thanks to energized and powerful members like you, we are well on our way.

Thank you for everything you do,

Diljeet K. Singh, M.D., Dr.P.H.
President

P.S. We will have much more to share about our Annual Meeting in the coming weeks—including photos, slide sets, recordings, and more. Stay tuned!
