Dear Medicare supporter,

About last night … I was thrilled to welcome a powerful group of speakers, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren, to talk about the many ways that corporate health insurers harm seniors on Medicare. More than 1,200 people joined us LIVE to learn more about profiteering in Medicare Advantage—and what we can all do to fight back!

Physicians, patients, and family members are fed up with so-called “Medicare Advantage” plans. We’ve had all we can take of limited provider networks, prior authorization requests, surprise medical bills, and outright denials of care—hallmarks of the for-profit health insurance industry that are harmful everywhere, but are especially unwelcome in Medicare.

If you’re ready to take action to reclaim Medicare, I hope you’ll join me in sharing the news about corporate profiteering, speaking up in your community, and showing up to some important direct actions over the summer and fall.

I also hope you’ll check out the materials PNHP has developed raising the alarm about Medicare Advantage insurers. This includes our recent “Taking Advantage” report, as well as years of research and advocacy on corporate wrongdoing in U.S. health care.

These materials are only scratching the surface of what we know to be wrong with Medicare Advantage. I also encourage you to visit HealMedicare.org, review our Medicare Disadvantage Kitchen Table Campaign, and read our previous report on rampant overcharging of taxpayers, “Our Payments. Their Profits.”

But first and foremost, I hope you sign up to take action! Our movement is growing, and together we can force real change that protects seniors from the very worst of corporate profiteering.

Sincerely,

Phil Verhoef, M.D., Ph.D.
